    Good morning!

I was working on using Role Scoper for a client and the plugin worked in giving backend users access to seeing/editing only certain custom post types. However due to it being a fairly difficult website with a fairly large amount of tech debt it broke another aspect of the site.

The client would like me to try using this newer version to see if that would remedy the issue before we start looking into a more custom option.

Does Press Permit have a similar feature? And if so what add-ons would we need?

    Regards,

    -Alex

Yes, you can try it out for read access using Press Permit Core alone. Enable your CPT in Permissions > Settings > Core > Filtered Post Types. Then go to Permissions > Groups or Users > [role cell of desired user] to customize permissions. Add a reading exception to change the user’s access (“Also these” or “Only these” depending on whether you are trying to expand or restrict access).

With PP Pro, you can do the same for editing access after activating the PP Collaborative Editing extension plugin.
