Because of the situation I described in my previous topic, I’ve been reflecting on our existing processes. We make use of a WordPress plugin that builds and maintains a sitemap.xml automatically. Because this plugin is blind to Press Permit’s wizardry, it fails to understand that a public post is not necessarily public for all. So it includes public posts that only accessible to people that are a part of a particular group (which 99% of the time is useless to people Googling). I can add exceptions one by one using this sitemap plugin, but this is hugely impractical and time consuming. What would be ideal is an plugin with Press Permit integration, or an actual Press Permit add-on that does this. Am I wrong… does something like this already exist? I also know I can let Google just index the site naturally, but I would prefer having control over the sitemap… assuming I can resolve this issue.
