Unable to assign reading exceptions for Groups or Users – WordPress 5.0.3

I’m unable to assign reading exceptions for groups or users on a clean install of WordPress 5.0.3. When editing a post or a page you can search the group or user but when clicking on ‘Select >’ you get the following error and nothing happens. I’ve tested in both Firefox and Chrome with the same results.
